Releases
Pholio publishes the rules it will launch with, before it launches
Remote, 15 September 2026. Pholio, a platform for models and the agencies they apply to, today published its terms and policies in draft, weeks before anyone can sign up. The eight documents cover the terms of use, privacy, cookies, copyright, AI, community guidelines, the submission programme and take-down requests.
“Models are asked to agree to a lot of things they never get to read first,” said Leul Enquanhone, co-founder. “We would rather be read early, and corrected.”
The drafts carry one version, 2026-09-15. Any change before launch will be listed against it. Comments go to legal@pholio.studio.
###
Agencies can request access to Pholio, free
Remote, 14 September 2026. Modeling agencies can now request access to Pholio ahead of its launch. Agencies use Pholio to publish what they ask applicants for, receive applications that already meet it, and export them to the tools they already use.
Every request is checked by a person against public records before an account is opened. Pholio does not charge agencies, and has no plan to.
“An open call is usually a form and an inbox,” said Natan Getahun, co-founder. “Both sides deserve better than that, and neither should have to pay for it.”

###
Statement: what Pholio’s software does with a photograph
Remote, 26 August 2026. Pholio’s image features are off by default and are switched on by the talent, one purpose at a time. When they are on, they describe a photograph: a close-up, a full length, a profile. They do not score a face or a body, guess a person’s age or background, or rank one person against another.
The licence talent give Pholio does not cover training general-purpose AI models on their photographs. The full account is published as the AI notice.

Leul Enquanhone
Co-founder. Designs and builds Pholio.
“Most of what goes wrong for a new model happens before anyone looks at the photographs: the wrong format, last year’s digitals, a reply that never comes. That part, software can fix.”

Natan Getahun
Co-founder. Brings Pholio to the industry. Answers press.
“We will never tell anyone they are going to be signed. We can tell them exactly what an agency asked for, and whether they sent it.”

Portraits are each person’s own, cleared for editorial use about Pholio.
On the record
We can speak to
- How an application to a modeling agency actually travels, from the photographs to the reply that does or does not come.
- Why digitals need a date, and what “current” should mean.
- The schemes that charge new models for the first step, and how to tell one from a real agency.
- What software should, and should not, decide about a person’s photographs.
- Why Pholio opens to adults only.
We will not
- Discuss any individual model or applicant.
- Comment on an agency’s decisions.
- Give numbers we do not have. There is no user count before there are users.
- Predict anyone’s career.

What Pholio makes
